DESCRIPTION:Course Description \nDue to the nature\, visibility\, and impact of law enforcement services on society\, the profession is subject to significant public scrutiny and increasing expectations regarding performance\, professionalism\, and leadership. In today’s complex and rapidly evolving environment\, modern law enforcement officers must possess more than tactical expertise and traditional autocratic leadership styles to be successful. \nSuccess in contemporary policing requires a broader set of skills\, competencies\, and personal attributes. Officers must be able to build and maintain healthy professional relationships\, effectively manage conflict\, and achieve organizational goals. In addition\, they must develop the ability to strengthen internal and external partnerships while maintaining the respect and support of both their peers and the community they serve. \nThis course focuses on the development of emotional intelligence (EQ) as a critical leadership competency in law enforcement.
