SUMMARY:Pre-Employment Background Investigations #6023 (June 25-26\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:Texas legislature requires all law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough pre-employment background investigation prior to appointing an applicant as a Texas Peace Officer\, Jailer or Telecommunicator. This course is designed to guide investigators through a proper process to satisfy TCOLE background requirements. Students will have knowledge upon competition of this course on: SB 24\, Documentation required (CBF)\, Secureshare\, Internal affairs (G) files\, the Appointment Process Flowchart and 1701.451 Pre-employment Procedure. \nTopics Covered\n\nStudent will be able to list the Documents needed from a Law Enforcement applicant.\nStudent will be able to identify the minimum standards required for persons to be licensed/appointed.\nStudent will have knowledge of the phases required during the preemployment background investigation.\nStudent will identify the importance of conducting & documenting a Background Investigation.\nStudents will be able to explain the reason for conducting a proper and complete applicant Background Investigation.\nStudent will be able to identify disqualifiers through the background investigation.\nStudents will understand how to request\, view\, upload personnel files through the secured share platform.\nStudents will be able to identify the required areas to be filled out on the Background Confirmation Form.\n\nFor More information click here
