SUMMARY:Off Duty Encounters #3922 (August 5\, 2025)
DESCRIPTION:Description: The frequency of off-duty encounters involving law enforcement officers has surged dramatically\, necessitating that officers be equipped to handle critical situations\, whether it involves taking life-saving actions or dealing with potential threats. Engaging in off-duty incidents requires careful consideration\, as officers often lack the resources and equipment available during their official duties. These encounters can be classified from non-critical to critical incidents\, and accurately assessing the situation is essential to determine the need for immediate intervention. Many off-duty incidents occur while officers are with their families\, complicating the decision-making process and potentially exposing loved ones to danger. To minimize these risks\, officers should create comprehensive “off-duty action plans” that include strategies for concealed carry\, code words for family communication\, and identification protocols. This one-day training course aims to equip officers with the necessary mindset to not only survive physically but also to prepare mentally for the repercussions of a critical off-duty incident. \nInstruction for students:\nThe first half of the class will be in the classroom located at the GGLEA. The second half will be conducted at the Rosenberg Police Department Gun Range.\nThe students are responsible to bring the following items:\nOff Duty handgun\nat least 2 magazines (3 is preferred or 2 speed-loaders)\nConcealment holster (The manner in which you carry off-duty)\n300 rounds of ammunition\nhearing and eye protection\nWater for hydration (outdoor range) \nAdditional items (Good to have but not required)\nknee pads\nLawn Chair\nSnacks\nCap (highly recommended) \nDo NOT wear any red colored clothing to the range. \nFor More information click here
