Description: The frequency of off-duty encounters involving law enforcement officers has surged dramatically, necessitating that officers be equipped to handle critical situations, whether it involves taking life-saving actions or dealing with potential threats. Engaging in off-duty incidents requires careful consideration, as officers often lack the resources and equipment available during their official duties. These encounters can be classified from non-critical to critical incidents, and accurately assessing the situation is essential to determine the need for immediate intervention. Many off-duty incidents occur while officers are with their families, complicating the decision-making process and potentially exposing loved ones to danger. To minimize these risks, officers should create comprehensive “off-duty action plans” that include strategies for concealed carry, code words for family communication, and identification protocols. This one-day training course aims to equip officers with the necessary mindset to not only survive physically but also to prepare mentally for the repercussions of a critical off-duty incident.
