The course provides county corrections officers with the knowledge and practical skills needed to effectively and respectfully interact with justice-involved veterans. The Interacting with Veterans in a Jail Setting course introduces military culture, the unique experiences and mental health challenges faced by veterans, and how to apply trauma-informed communication and de-escalation techniques.
