Suicide Detection and Prevention in Jails is designed to teach officers about suicidal ideation, how to recognize the signs of suicidal ideation, and methods for detection and prevention of suicide in jail settings. This course covers the risk factors of potential suicides, and the mandated screening form jailers must complete with every intake of an inmate. This course is required to receive the Intermediate Jailer certification.
