Interacting with Veterans in a Jail Setting #4902 – (Sept. 2, 2026) – PM

This course is designed to meet the legislative mandate established by SB 1563, in accordance with Chapter 1701 of the Texas Occupations Code. The course provides county corrections officers with the knowledge and practical skills needed to effectively and respectfully interact with justice-involved veterans. The Interacting with Veterans in a Jail Setting course introduces military culture, the unique experiences and mental health challenges faced by veterans, and
how to apply trauma-informed communication and de-escalation techniques.
