Pre-Employment Background Investigations #6023 (June 25-26, 2026)
Texas legislature requires all law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough pre-employment background investigation prior to appointing an applicant as a Texas Peace Officer, Jailer or Telecommunicator. This course is designed to guide investigators through a proper process to satisfy TCOLE background requirements. Handgun Qualifications - July 14, 2026 (10am)
FBCSO Handgun Qualification:
If you are a Deputy with the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office and your Birth month is in July, you may register for a time slot for you Annual Handgun Qualification. The Qualifications will be held at theRichmond PD Range, 204 Clay St., Richmond, TX. Before we can initiate regular operations, we must accommodate all individuals whose birth month is in July. If your Birth NOT in one of the above listed months, please wait until we resume Qualifications have opened up.
Each qualification session has been divided into hour and fifteen-minute intervals, which will encompass weapon inspection, registration, qualification, and weapon cleaning. To ensure a seamless process, it is necessary for you to arrive approximately 10 minutes before the start of your session. Arriving late may lead to the rescheduling of your qualification to a different time slot or even a different date, depending on the number of shooters already registered for the subsequent time slot. For instance: if you have registered for the 0830-0945 time slot, you should arrive around 0815 hours and anticipate beginning shooting at approximately 0845.
Please limit this to your Duty weapon exclusively at this moment. Once we are fully operational, we will introduce additional time slots for off-duty weapons.
Upon Arrival, please make you weapon "safe" near the entrance at the handgun clearing station (Red unloading station). SAFE: removing your magazine, pointing the barrel of your weapon into the RED unloading station and extract the round in the chamber. Lock the slide to the rear and holster. Do NOT reinsert your magazine into your weapon. ALLERT Erase T3 #3377 - (August 3-7, 2026)
This course is designed to prepare first responders for an open-air active shooter encounter. It addresses a wide range of tactics and techniques when addressing an exterior armed aggressor. This hands on course will cover equipment selection, vehicle ambushes, medical emergencies, vehicle and dismounted officer/citizen down rescue, individual/ team movement techniques, and emergency vehicle crisis response. Some participants attending this course have found it to be physically challenging. Officers attending this course should be able to walk moderate distances, jog, kneel, crawl, and lift moderate weight. This is an outside class and is routinely conducted during inclement weather conditions. The train‑the‑trainer course includes the complete delivery of the Exterior Response to Active Shooter Events (ERASE) course of study as well as instructional techniques and methodology for delivering the course, force‑on‑target scenario development, safety protocols and procedures, graded participant teach‑backs, remediation, course critiques, and evaluations. Participants are provided with all lesson plans, PowerPoint presentations, student manuals, and related courseware so that they are immediately prepared to deliver the Exterior Response to Active Shooter Events course at their home agency.
