The Interacting with Veterans in a Jail Setting course introduces military culture, the unique experiences and mental health challenges faced by veterans, and how to apply trauma-informed communication and de-escalation techniques.

Basic County Corrections (course #1121) The Basic County Corrections course has a new look! This course is designed to meet the legislative mandates by the Texas Legislature that amends Texas Occupations Code Chapter 1701. The Basic County Corrections course (BCC) is designed to provide knowledge, skills, and abilities to be successful as a new Texas county jailer. There is a new course number. Any deliveries that begin on or after April 1, 2026 must use the new content with the new course reporting number. The course hours remain the same. Content from Interacting with Veterans in a Jail Setting (course #4902) is included. Training providers must implement the new content by April 1, 2026.
