ALERRT LEVEL 1 #3311 (16 hour) is a required course for the current TCOLE 2 year Training Unit
This dynamic course of instruction is designed to prepare the first responder to isolate, distract, and neutralize an active shooter.
This course will cover shooting and moving, threshold evaluation, concepts and principles of team movement, setting up for and room entry techniques, approach and breaching the crisis site, secondary responder tactics, improvised explosive devices, and post engagement priorities of work. The course will culminate with dynamic force‑on‑force scenarios.This is limited to Fort Bend SO Only!

The purpose in this unit of instruction is to teach methods for implementing and deploying ballistic shields for the patrol officer. The instructions covers special considerations when deploying shields such as reloading, weapon malfunctions, movement, and low light operations.

Pre-Employment Background Investigations #6023 (June 25-26, 2026)
Texas legislature requires all law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough pre-employment background investigation prior to appointing an applicant as a Texas Peace Officer, Jailer or Telecommunicator. Upon Arrival, please make you weapon "safe" near the entrance at the handgun clearing station (Red unloading station). SAFE: removing your magazine, pointing the barrel of your weapon into the RED unloading station and extract the round in the chamber. Lock the slide to the rear and holster. Do NOT reinsert your magazine into your weapon. The Firearms Staff will not accept your handgun until it is deemed to be in safe configuration ( Magazine removed, Empty chamber, and Slide locked back).
*We are limited on ear and eye protection. A good investment to your career and training should include a personal set of ear protection and clear lens safety glasses. -
Handgun Qualifications - August 18, 2026 (3pm - 4pm)
FBCSO Handgun Qualification:
If you are a Deputy with the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office and your Birth month is in August, you may register for a time slot for you Annual Handgun Qualification. The Qualifications will be held at theRichmond PD Range, 204 Clay St., Richmond, TX. Before we can initiate regular operations, we must accommodate all individuals whose birth month is in August. If your Birth month is NOT one of the above listed months, please wait until we resume Qualifications have opened up.
